Job Summary:
The Microsoft 365 Information Security Specialist is responsible for planning implementing and managing information security measures for sensitive data within Microsoft 365 environments. This includes safeguarding data from internal and external threats ensuring compliance reducing risk and maintaining business continuity. Key areas of focus include Microsoft Purview Entra ID and related services.
The Microsoft 365 Information Security Specialist is responsible for planning implementing and managing information security measures for sensitive data within Microsoft 365 environments. This includes safeguarding data from internal and external threats ensuring compliance reducing risk and maintaining business continuity. Key areas of focus include Microsoft Purview Entra ID and related services.
Location: Taylor Texas United States
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for information protection and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
- Establish and manage data retention policies for compliance and regulatory adherence.
- Monitor identify and mitigate insider threats.
- Design and implement Identity & Access Management (IAM) strategies for secure collaboration services.
- Oversee and respond to information security alerts incidents and posture management activities.
- Develop classification and labeling strategies for sensitive information.
- Administer Entra ID Exchange Online & On-Premises and Azure Information Protection.
- Manage data-at-rest encryption solutions.
- Optimize license allocation and ensure compliance with agreements.
- Collaborate with administrators business application owners and governance/security roles to implement effective policies and controls.
- Develop test and maintain disaster recovery plans.
- Provide end-user/admin training and maintain detailed security documentation.

- Bachelor s degree in computer information systems or related field.
- 5 7 years of experience managing and securing Microsoft 365 environments.
- Expertise in Microsoft Purview Entra ID Exchange Online SharePoint Online and Exchange On-Premises.
- Knowledge of Azure Information Protection and encryption practices.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.

- Strong analytical troubleshooting and communication skills.
