Procurement Analyst

The Procurement Analyst will be focused on support activities that help create value across the portfolio of Logistics & Services in Mexico. This role supports the procurement team in driving process improvement on-time delivery compliance with internal policies and alignment with supplier agreements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented organized analytical and eager to learn procurement techniques including negotiation with suppliers.
The role will be part of the Logistics & Services (L&S) procurement organization which covers landside transportation (rail truck) air warehousing depots customs and other value-added services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Vendor Master Data creation and maintenance process.
- Prepare purchase orders and track their progress to ensure timely delivery
- Coordinate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or procurement delays.
- Help maintain accurate records of purchases pricing and other important data.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations
- Support the resolution of invoice discrepancies and supplier issues
- Develop and track metrics and KPIs to monitor procurement performance and supplier compliance
- Assist in negotiating prices and terms with vendors in conjunction with category managers
- Benchmark Maersk cost levels against competition and support efforts to drive cost leadership
- Ensure high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in cost saving and optimization initiatives.
