DescriptionThe EDS D&R is also responsible for design improvements that lead to quality increase cost and weight optimization
Responsibilities- Design wiring harnesses complying with program cost weight quality performance and timing targets
- Lead 3D wire routing and package CAD layout activity
- Interface with Systems Engineering on logical and physical schematic development
- Definition and support of wire size/type selectionbased on Requirements and Design Rules
- Utilize best design efficiencies for manufacturing assembly and failure mode avoidance practices
- Issue resolution in Digital and Build Phases of Product Development.
- Create and maintain program specific foundation documents (Boundary Diagrams Quality History P-diagram DFMEA etc.)
- Lead manufacturing print development with Full Service Supplier Partner sign-off and release
- Create and maintain harness family complexity
- Drive commonality of designs across multiple programs and platforms
- Develop and maintain installation illustrations
- Release parts in FEDEBOM and WERS through the product life cycle. Support the Change Control Meeting.
- Complete Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) with Technical Specialists
- Manage component and harness APQP with STA Partners and on time part delivery
- Review pre-production vehicles for potential campaign items and assess warranty impact
- Participate in vehicle builds and lead resolution of issues (AIMS)
- Lead resolution of warranty (AWS) issues with PVT and Supplier
- Lead EDS cost analysis/estimates and support reviews
- Define harness to harness in-line connector pinouts and terminal sizing
- Lead electrical EDS compatibility reviews and sign-off wire harness prints
- Lead signoff of EDS Design requirements and Design rule checks
- Manage logical design data via Catia 3DX and Team Center Engineering
Qualifications- BS in Engineering discipline(electrical desirable)
- Strong English Proficiency (written read and oral).
- Design Capable in 3D via Catia V5 or 3DX
- Microsoft Office Usage (Excel Word PowerPoint and Visio).
- Ability to travel to suppliers or assembly facilities to support APQP and build events
- LV and HV Wiring Experience
- Minimum 5 Wiring or electrical years of experience
- Functional knowledge of vehicle electrical system or functional knowledge of vehicle wiring system.
- Working knowledge of vehicle development process (GPDS) change control process (WERS) and vehicle launch experience
