Job Title: Tender Engineer

Description:
We are hiring for our client a well-established leader in the switchgear industry who is seeking a skilled Tender Engineer to join their team. This Tender Engineer role is an excellent opportunity for a technically qualified Engineer looking to move away from a purely technical role into a more client-facing position. Working closely with the Sales Director youll use your engineering expertise to review client requirements prepare accurate and competitive quotation documentation and play a key part in securing business within mission-critical low-voltage switchgear projects.

The Role:

  • Take ownership of assigned switchgear tender processes from enquiry through to tender submission

  • Review customer specifications documents and drawings to ensure compliance with tender requirements

  • Prepare detailed and precise switchgear project quotations and tender documents

  • Work closely with the Sales Director to align proposals with customer needs

  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams for material and labour requirements

  • Update internal pricing and design templates to reflect industry developments and best practices

  • Maintain regular communication with customers to clarify requirements and provide timely updates

  • Follow up proactively on quoted projects

  • Ensure accurate completion of internal documentation and adherence to procedures

  • Keep up to date with industry standards (IEC BS EN) trends and health & safety requirements

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe tidy workspace

The Person:

  • Engineering qualification (Degree or Electrical Trade)

  • Technical understanding of switchgear is highly desirable

  • Experience working on tenders exceeding 5 million in sectors like pharmaceutical industrial or data centres is an advantage

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work directly with clients and colleagues

  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads and meet bid deadlines under pressure

  • Fluent English with exceptional written and verbal communication

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP Business One experience is beneficial

  • Eligible to work in Ireland (valid work permit if required); full driving licence is an advantage
