We are seeking a talented and collaborative Agile Pod Leader to join our team and spearhead our Agile Delivery transformation.

What can you expect:

We in Product Delivery Engineering are on a mission: to transform the way our Mercer business and IT teams work together to unlock the benefits of rapid delivery of quality secure software to market by empowered teams. We will do this by rolling out our Delivery model and ensuring we are able to integrate innovative AI solutions. You will oversee one or more Pods and will be responsible for their delivery of working software through to production.

Our scaled Agile Delivery Methodology is transforming our IT teams in cohorts of Pods and Squads. If a Squad is defined as the smallest number of people required to deliver product functionality to market then a Pod is the smallest number of Squads required to deliver a complex product or collection of integrated products to market. Pods exist to create Products and services that deliver on business focused Missions.

  • Lead the developmentin a portfolio of products bridging product teams and technical squads to deliver outstanding software solutions.
  • Navigate Complexity:Thrive in our complex technological landscape managing a diverse portfolio of revenue-generating applications while adhering to stringent security and legislative requirements.
  • Lead the Charge:Own and drive our Agile Transformation plan ensuring we track and realize its benefits while fostering a culture of agility across our Engineering Teams.
  • Empower Teams:Be the go-to point of contact for our Agile teams guiding them through challenges and collaborating with key stakeholders across the business and MMC Tech organization.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement:Ensure all teams embrace a culture of Continuous Improvement delivering on their commitments and enhancing our agile mindset.

We will rely on you to:

  • Run the software delivery Pod ensuring there are smooth and efficient processes for getting software through from requirements to working in production.
  • Focus on value creation growth and serving customers.
  • Responsible for ensuring your pod is resourced with skill individuals working with our internal and external resource provider teams.
  • Responsible for aligning with the strategic target organisation and operating model for Agile delivery in particular the QE transformation and the shift towards the implementation of T-Shaped Engineering practices.
  • You will have an Enterprise mind-set able to foster collaboration break down silos identify and work to remove blockers.
  • Solid understanding of Software Development Architecture Test Engineering and Security best practice in an Agile environment.
  • Ensure our governance and ceremonies are in place and effective
  • Own the Continuous Improvement backlog for the Pod. This is the key mechanism by which we deliver improvements for the following; time to market efficiency and quality.
  • You will provide coaching and support to your pod and be responsible for line management of squad leaders.
  • Manage the integration of AI solutions into existing products and new developments ensuring alignment with organisational goals and enhancing overall product functionality.

What you need to have:

  • Be an Agile Evangelistwith hands-on experience in delivering complex solutions and implementing Agile models ideally global organizations.
  • A strategic thinker who understands how to adapt Agile practices as AI becomes integral to our operations and solutions.
  • Technically savvy with a breadth of experience that enables you to engage meaningfully with our talented Tech teams and support our target tech stack adoption.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience of a wide range of Technology roles is desirable ideally with some form of development engineering or Agile Programme management background.
  • Rounded and holistic understanding of Agile Methodologies such as SAFe and RTE KMP & ICP-ACC Certifications or their equivalent.
  • Ideally familiarity with managing AI model developments into existing and new applications.
