The Role

Based at Ricardos Prague Technical Centre we are seeking a Calibration Engineer to support the delivery of ongoing client projects. Our Calibration team is responsible for the calibration and validation of advanced control systems across a wide range of clean and complex propulsion and energy systems. These include engines transmissions xEV powertrains power electronics electric motors and drives battery management systems advanced thermal systems and fuel cell technologies.

We provide end-to-end calibration development services from initial feasibility studies through to fully validated production calibrations. While this role will primarily focus on propulsion calibration development and validation there may be opportunities to contribute to other technical domains depending on project requirements and team workload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver client projects as part of a collaborative team
  • Develop engine calibration for gasoline diesel and alternative fuels including hybrid electric and fully electric applications
  • Support calibration development for engine emissions control systems
  • Contribute to On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) and On-Board Monitoring (OBM) development
  • Conduct calibration activities on test rigs/testbeds on-vehicle/machine/boat and via remote (desktop-based) methods
  • Perform technical analysis with a sound evidence-based approach to meet project objectives
  • Take responsibility for delivering assigned tasks on time within budget and to the required quality standards
  • Engage directly with clients to address technical matters
  • Coordinate with wider project teams to plan and execute project activities
  • Report technical progress and findings internally and to external customers

Key Competencies and Experience

  • Engineering background with a strong understanding of engine fundamentals
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex technical data
  • A passion for solving challenging engineering problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Confident in engaging with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings on-site development support and visits to other Ricardo locations
