This entry-level role supports daily kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation maintaining sanitation standards and ensuring timely meal service for service members and personnel.
- Assist with basic food prep tasks such as chopping mixing and assembling ingredients.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines under supervision.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain cleanliness of workstations.
- Support food safety and sanitation protocols in compliance with health regulations.
- Help receive label and store food supplies using FIFO methods.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain composure and efficiency during high-volume meal periods.
- Perform routine cleaning duties to uphold facility standards.
What Were Looking For:
- Minimum of 1 - 2 year of hands on experience in a kitchen support role such as Kitchen Assistant Kitchen Aide or entry-level Cook.
- Minimum 12 years of experience working in a commercial institutional or high-volume kitchen environment.
- Basic culinary knowledge and willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe preferred).
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic math skills for measuring and inventory support.
- Strong attention to detail and time management.

Physical & Environmental:
- The position requires standing for extended periods with occasional walking bending and reaching throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift carry and move food items equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent physical activity including stirring chopping mixing and handling kitchen tools and ingredients.
- Repetitive hand and arm movements are required for tasks such as food prep plating and operating kitchen equipment.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are essential for precise cutting measuring and assembling dishes.
- Work is performed in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat steam sharp tools and moderate to high noise levels.
