Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Department: Warehouse

Status: Non-Exempt

Employee Classification: Regular Full-time

Reports To: Plant Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Job Summary: Responsible for managing the flow of materials and finished products in and out of the facility.

Essential Functions:

1. Maintain organization and sanitation of inventory locations
2. Monitor shipping and receiving schedule
3. Pick stage and load customer orders
4. Unload label and bin away raw material deliveries
5. Verify incoming and outgoing goods for damage or defects
6. Verify incoming and outgoing orders for accuracy
7. Ensure proper temperature and handling of raw materials
8. Document physical movement of goods between inventory locations
9. Coordinate with quality assurance to maintain warehouse workflows
10. Communicate issues as they arise
11. Maintain inventory accuracy at multiple inventory locations including quantity and lot information
12. Cycle counting

1. Other tasks as assigned by management

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Proficient in forklift operation
2. Proficient in PC skills; ERP/MRP and Microsoft Office Suite
3. Effective time management skills
4. Effective communications skills
5. Team oriented.

Working Conditions/Physical Factors:

1. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
2. Worker may be exposed to a loud working environment.
3. Worker may be exposed to hazards in the workplace such as proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat moving parts and electrical current
4. Must be able to work in an environment containing allergens (nuts milk wheat etc.)
5. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
6. Occasionally required to use hands and fingers
7. Frequently required to talk or hear
8. Frequently required to taste and smell
9. Frequently required to lift/push/pull/carry weight up to 65 pounds
10. Exposure to moving mechanical parts
11. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles
