The Bedford Lab in the Biostatistics Bioinformatics and Epidemiology (BBE) program in the Vaccine & Infectious Disease Division (VIDD) is seeking a Graduate Research Assistant. This is a hourly Position with flexible hours.
Responsibilities
The Research Assistant position will focus on development refinement and utilization of epidemiological transmission models to assess dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 variant viruses. The applicant will be joining a multi-disciplinary group to work on mathematical and statistical methods to assess growth rate of SARS-CoV-2 variants based on genomic sequence data. The goal of this project is to improvement forecasting of SARS-CoV-2 variant frequencies.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree in statistics/biostatistics computer science applied mathematics biomedical engineering physics computational biology evolutionary biology or other fields with strong quantitative training.
- Programming skills in Python (preferred) and/or R.
- Research experience in mathematical modeling of biological systems including but not limited to modeling infectious disease transmission and population dynamics.
The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $48.09 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
