Job Description
Role Purpose
Responsible for end-to-end management of consumables procurement at FLSmidth combining strategic sourcing supplier relationship management and contract oversight to ensure competitive cost consistent quality reliable supply and alignment with operational and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement sourcing strategies for consumable categories (e.g. wear parts grinding media filtration elements fasteners) to support business objectives.
Build maintain and enhance long-term relationships with key suppliers fostering collaboration and innovation.
Negotiate commercial terms supply agreements and service level commitments to deliver best value to FLSmidth.
Conduct RFQ/tender processes evaluate bids and lead contract award recommendations.
Monitor and analyse supplier performance against KPIs (DIFOT quality metrics lead time cost) and implement continuous improvement plans.
Identify qualify and onboard new suppliers to diversify supply base and reduce risk.
Collaborate closely with engineering maintenance and operations teams to ensure supplier capabilities meet specification compliance and delivery needs.
Track market trends pricing and cost drivers to inform commercial strategies.
Ensure all sourcing and supplier activities meet FLSmidths ESG compliance safety and ethical procurement standards.
Drive cost reduction standardisation and efficiency initiatives across the consumables category.
Skills & Experience
Strong commercial negotiation category management and supplier relationship skills.
Experience in consumables procurement within heavy industry mining or manufacturing.
Proven ability to analyse supplier data and market intelligence to make informed decisions.
Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
