Job Purpose
Alstom is seeking a full-timeCivil Engineerto serve as thesite authority on drainage systems and track infrastructureto supportStage 2 track infrastructureinquiries for the Ottawa Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. This role is critical in identifying and documentingdivergencesbetween the constructed infrastructure and contractual obligations ensuring Alstom is compensated for design changes or construction non-conformities that impact maintenance responsibilities.
With a focus on drainage and track systems this position has the potential to uncover compensable divergences directly contributing to project profitability and operational risk mitigation.
Your future role
- Act as thesite authority on drainage topics providing technical expertise and oversight.
- Analyze Stage 2 track and drainage infrastructure for compliance with contract specifications and regulatory standards.
- Identify document and submitdivergence claimsrelated to design changes or construction non-conformities.
- Respond to technical submittals and inquiries from the customer and infrastructure constructor.
- Review engineering drawings specifications and construction documentation to assess impacts on Alstoms maintenance scope.
- Collaborate with internal engineering legal and commercial teams to validate and support divergence submissions.
- Interpret and apply contract language and regulatory frameworks to support claims.
- Maintain organized records of findings correspondence and supporting documentation.
- Contribute to monthly reporting and forecasting of divergence-related revenue.

- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3 years of experience in rail infrastructure drainage systems or civil works.
- Strong understanding of LRT or heavy rail track and drainage systems.
- Experience with contract interpretation and regulatory compliance (AREMA/EN)in infrastructure projects.
- Excellent analytical documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
