Job Description
SUMMARY:
Supports all aspects of costume production for the Theatre Arts Department. Direct report to the Costume faculty. Commitment is typically for the academic year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Hand sewing-hems buttons snaps hooks and eyes trim
- Machine sewing-alterations seams
- Costume maintenance-ironing laundry repairs shoe polishing etc.
- Costume stock pulling
- Costume stock maintenance
REQUIRED DATES:
- Start date: Aug 26. Potential for nights and weekends if necessary.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Current student enrolled at Vanguard University in good standing.
- Vibrant belief in Jesus Christ with ample evidence of personal discipleship.
- Maintain minimum grade point average of 2.0 each term.
- Discretion as costumes are very personal
- Demonstrated commitment as a team player to support and collaborate with other members of the shop team as well as the initiative and ability to work independently depending on skill level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that will result in effective collaboration.
COMPENSATION:
This position is 6-15 hours per week at a rate of $16.50 per hour.
