Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Nanyang Technological University Singapore
The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography computing business and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics including quantum information condensed matter physics biophysics and photonics. Over the years SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.
Position Available: Research Associate in Geometric Data Science
Join the laboratory of Dr Cyrus Mostajeran at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. We are seeking a Research Associate to contribute to the research agenda of the project Geometric Optimization and Design in Learning and Robotics.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
Obtaining rigorous mathematical results at the interface of geometry analysis and data science
Designing implementing and testing algorithms
Engaging in scientific exchange with collaboration partners of the project
Preparing reports scientific papers and presentations
Project duration: 6 months
Job Requirements:
Masters degree in Mathematics Physics Computer Science or Engineering
Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following areas: analysis differential geometry optimization mechanics biophysics robotics control theory
Enthusiasm for applying advanced mathematical tools and techniques to applications including data science and robotics
Good communication skills
