Your Core Responsibilities

Our Operations Engineering team is key to the success of our traders fellow engineers and all other teams. From desktop support to configuring and automating our systems you remove blockades for everyone by implementing supporting and maintaining servers networks and all user devices. You act autonomously and take responsibility for providing a top-notch IT environment. As a Senior IT Operations Engineer you will play a crucial role in advancing automation streamlining workflows and ensuring our user environment is secure performant and futureproof. Your responsibilities include:

• Engineer maintain and evolve user environments in Windows ensuring high availability performance and seamless user experience that scales into the future
• Troubleshoot escalate and document a variety of systems issues to support a growing office
• Act as a subject matter expert in areas like Active Directory Microsoft 365 cloud integration (primarily AWS) and system security policiesSupport and extend mobile device management (MDM) capabilities with platforms such as JAMF particularly on MacOS
• Optimize performance for user-facing tools and platforms including troubleshooting behaviour on Windows
• Lead by example mentoring more junior team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and smart automation
• Collaborate with engineering teams across Amsterdam London Zug Chicago and APAC to ensure a consistent user experience and infrastructure
• Design and implement monitoring and alerting solutions using Grafana Prometheus and other observability tools
• Assist in-house Facilities Management with the execution of desk and physical equipment moves
• Networks and occasional Data Centre visits

Your Skills and Experience:

We are seeking T-shaped engineers with deep expertise in Windows systems engineering that have a broad understanding of adjacent areas. Youre someone who sees beyond the ticket queue who wants to engineer solutions not just fix problems.

• A degree (BSc or above) in a technology-related field or equivalent practical experience
• You currently live in the UK
• 6 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in enterprise or high-performance environments such a bank (trading floor) brokerage or trading firm
• Deep expertise in Windows infrastructure and hybrid cloud setups and ideally familiarity with Mac Operating System. Some Linux experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of MDM tools (JAMF Intune) and a willingness to up skill quickly in this area.
• Understanding of VMWare and networking fundamentals especially in the context of host systems and MacOS environments
• Sound understanding acrossTCP/IP host networking concepts and host networking management (DHCP static config)forWindows and MacOS
• Experience planning and coordinating projects with multiple participants
• Exposure to configuration/tuning/troubleshooting of JVMs/Java applications
• Solid documentation and operational handover habits empowering others to follow clear processes
• A problem-solving mindset: able to zoom out propose smarter solutions and reduce technical debt through automation
• If you are comfortable scripting and automating tasks using PowerShell and/or Python that will help a lot!
• Microsoft Certifications are considered a huge plus.
