IT Manager / AssistantIT Manager(Artificial Intelligence) ()
Position description
The Information Technology Manager / Assistant Information Technology Manager will join the Applications & Integration Services Section playing a crucial role in the Office of Information Technology reporting directly to the Senior Information Technology Manager. The incumbent will be responsible to actively contribute to the development and management of artificial intelligence enabled applications across different areas in the University aiding our digital transformation towards the AI-enabled community.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research and evaluation of AI advancements and industry-specified trend to align with evolving business objectives;
- Lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives with the latest Large Language Model (LLM) technologies demonstrating a commitment to exploring new possibilities;
- Understand and analyse business needs and able to propose appropriate AI / Digital solutions actively take part in innovative projects with new technology;
- Engage in all stages of the system development life cycle including requirements analysis system development testing implementation and ongoing support for AI-related projects;
- Work with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues embedding AI products to ensure timely and effective resolutions;
- Collaborate with vendors and system implementers coordinating and documenting meetings;
- Optimise AI solutions to maximise efficiency productivity and value across the organisation; and
- Ensure all AI products and applications adhere to responsible AI best practices and ethical standards.
Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in information technology computer science data science or a related discipline;
- Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in system development / integration and solution implementation;
- A keen interest in the latest generative AI developments and a passion for innovation;
- Experience in:
- Implementation of LLM/RAG/Agentic AI related projects;
- ML/AI model integration / fine-tuning / customisation;
- Cloud infrastructure development/migration/integration;
- Sound knowledge of DBMS such as MSSQL;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to emerging trends and technologies;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions; and
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being capable of working independently.
Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Information Technology Manager.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract for up to 2 years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
