SUMMARY: The Liberal Studies Dept Student Worker is responsible for providing administrative support for the Liberal Studies Department at Vanguard University. Under the direct supervision of Department Staff the Student Worker will help to maintain efficient day-to-day operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Leadership: Oversee the Teachers of Tomorrow (ToT) student club as the acting President and fulfill responsibilities including recruiting students coordinating social events and info sessions monthly member meetings as well as complete administrative duties associated with the University requirements of supporting student clubs
- Events Coordinator: Coordinate on-campus and off-campus social events and info sessions in support of the Liberal Studies Department and ToT club events
- Marketing: Coordinate social media (Instagram Facebook and LinkedIn) and assist with increasing followers by providing creative input and ideas to support the Liberal Studies Department and ToT club.
- Administrative: Perform other tasks and projects as assigned to support the Liberal Studies Department including matters related to advising and academic support.
REQUIRED DATES: - No required participation in any specific events
- Must be able to start by Sept 15th and available until end of Fall semester with opportunity to continue in the Spring.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: - Current student enrolled at Vanguard University in good standing.
- Vibrant belief in Jesus Christ with ample evidence of personal discipleship.
- Preferred Major/Minor: Liberal Studies ITEP and any student interested in Education Child Development and Psychology
- Maintain minimum grade point average of 2.0 each term.
- Detail-oriented able to prioritize duties and handle routine tasks with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated commitment as a team player to support and collaborate with faculty staff peers and external constituents as well as the initiative and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that will result in effective collaboration.
COMPENSATION: This position is 10-15 hours per week at a rate of $17 per hour. |
