Job Description

The City of Seabrook is seeking a detail-oriented customer-service-focused Court Clerk II to join our Municipal Court Services team. This role performs a variety of intermediate-level administrative clerical and technical duties to support daily court operations while ensuring compliance with local state and federal laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional customer service in person by phone email fax and online chat regarding fines payment plans court settings warrants and related inquiries.

  • Collect reconcile and record fines fees bonds and payments using Incode software.

  • Process citations bonds pleas and open records requests in compliance with laws and policies.

  • Assist defendants with payment plans community service deferred dispositions compliance dismissals and driving safety courses.

  • Prepare and maintain court dockets legal documents and courtroom setups.

  • Coordinate with judges prosecutors law enforcement attorneys and the public.

  • Support collection efforts case compliance reviews and dismissal processing.

  • Serve as backup support to Court Clerk I as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • At least two (2) years of experience with court policies and procedures.

  • Two (2) years of general office clerical or customer service experience.

  • Valid Texas drivers license with a good driving record.

  • Texas Municipal Court Clerk Level I Certification required.

  • Must obtain TLETS certification within 12 months of hire.

  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required Incode software preferred.

  • Bilingual skills preferred.

  • Prior cash-handling and reconciliation experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to organize work prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.

  • Knowledge of court procedures state laws and city ordinances.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism.

  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

  • Work performed in an office or courtroom setting.

  • Requires frequent standing walking bending and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to meet vision and auditory requirements for effective performance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Grade: 106 FLSA: Non-Exempt

  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical dental vision retirement and paid leave.
