Job Summary
Bachelors degree with an IT-related emphasis.
Minimum 8 years experience supporting and managing multiple UNIX Server systems in a medium to large environment. Operating systems to include (Redhat Linux / Oracle Enterprise Linux / Oracle Exadata / CentOS / IBM AIX / Oracle Solaris / Nutanix Acropolis)
Experience designing building and deploying server images and templates.
Strong aptitude for analysis and diagnosis of complex technical issues.
Minimum 4 years experience deploying security patches to multiple systems synchronously.
Minimum 8 years experience supporting and managing infrastructure in a medium to large environment.
Advanced troubleshooting skills.
Ability to create and troubleshoot UNIX shell scripts.
Experience with managing virtual servers and resources in VMware.
Experience managing and maintaining server hardware.
Script-writing for the purpose of automating and/or making processes more efficient.
Familiar with ITIL processes; practiced in a professional environment.
Very good understanding of networking concepts and principles.
Very good understanding of storage concepts and principles.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
Must be self-motivated but also able to take direction and complete projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
Must be comfortable working as a member of a small team within a large IT department.

As a member of the Unix Server Engineering team you will play a key role in supporting managing and engineering solutions for the Unix Server platforms and virtual infrastructure technology. Our small team provides support and designed solutions to multiple data centers around the globe. You will be involved in the day to day support and management of our existing environment as well as the planning and development of the future-state goals of the overall environment. To fulfill the needs of this specialized team and the organization as a whole the person that fills this role will be a subject matter expert in Unix Server platforms and virtual infrastructure technology with a strong desire to produce outstanding results.
Provide tier 3 support for UNIX Server and vSphere platforms on a global scale.
Participate in the planning designing and implementation of solutions that are within our scope of expertise.
Maintain stability and operations of the environment as well as provide feedback and potential opportunities for improvement to process and technology.
Prioritize and manage any short- or long-term projects and/or goals assigned directly to you and complete within the timeframe allotted.
Provide technical guidance to other team members.
Adhere to change control process and policies.
Engage in incident resolution process as needed.
Fulfillment of service requests as needed.
Participate in an on call rotation to respond to system outages and incidents.
Participation in a 24/7 on call rotation.
