Job Description

Build the data technology behind responsible investing

Are you an experienced software developer with a deep passion for data Do you get energized by building complex high-performance data pipelines using PySpark Databricks For one of the largest asset managers in the Netherlands we are looking for a Data Software Engineer who wants to make a difference in the domain of responsible investing.

You will join an international team that uses the most advanced cloud technologies to support investment strategies. This is your chance to work directly with investment specialists and build the data solutions that shape a sustainable financial future.

Your Role: The Engine Behind Data-Driven Investing

As a Data Software Engineer you are the technical backbone of the Responsible Investments team. You are not just a Data Engineer; you are a software developer who solves data problems with robust object-oriented code.

  • Develop & Optimize: You design build and maintain scalable data pipelines for new and existing investment platforms.

  • Manage the Tech Stack: You have full command of the Databricks workspace its dependencies and the CI/CD processes in Azure DevOps.

  • Collaborate & Translate: You work closely with investors and analysts translating their complex questions into scalable technical solutions and improving the data models that feed BI tools.

  • Innovate & Share Knowledge: You contribute to the teams technological strategy challenge designs and actively share your expertise with your team members.

Your Profile: A T-Shaped Technologist with Vision

Your Core Competencies (Must-Haves):

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Data Engineer in a data-intensive environment.

  • In-depth hands-on expertise with Python the PySpark framework and Databricks.

  • Demonstrable experience with object-oriented programming (experience with .NET is a strong plus).

  • Solid knowledge of and experience with the Azure Data Platform and CI/CD via Azure DevOps.

  • Fluency in English both spoken and written.

Your Personality:

  • You naturally take ownership and responsibility for the quality of your work.

  • You are a pragmatic team player motivated to deliver results and share knowledge.

  • Knowledge of the financial sector is a plus but a strong desire to master this complex domain is essential.

The Offer

  • Role: Data Software Engineer

  • Location: Amsterdam (with a willingness to travel to Heerlen occasionally).

  • Start Date: As soon as possible.

  • Hours: 32-40 hours per week.

  • Contract Type: Payroll contract only. Please note: Freelance (ZZP) is not an option.
