At WCC we build high-impact mission critical HR tech solutions used by governments and public institutions across the globe to help millions of people find suitable jobs today and prepare for the labor market of tomorrow. We are expanding our delivery team with a Senior Technical Consultant to help us implement these solutions in a pragmatic scalable and responsible manner.
This is a hands-on delivery-focused role where youll work with cross-functional teams to design configure deploy integrate and fine-tune our solutions in politically sensitive high-stakes environments. Youll combine a solid technical foundation with sharp stakeholder instincts and a strong sense of ownership over outcomes ensuring that we do the right things and do them right.
What youll do
Technical execution
Design configure deploy integrate and fine-tune WCCs HR tech solutions to meet client needs while respecting product boundaries solution architecture and long-term maintainability.
Set up and maintain ETL processes to ensure our solutions optimally leverage client data.
Work hands-on with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS) containerization tools (Docker Kubernetes) databases (SQL NoSQL) and scripting (Bash Python).
Prevent over-engineered unscalable or unmaintainable solutions through a deep understanding of technical architectures and data flows.
Ensure the responsible application of components powered by Artificial Intelligence by applying methodological rigor promoting transparency and flagging and mitigating risks that could impact fairness maintainability or public trust.
Stakeholder engagement
Act as a trusted technical advisor and sparring partner to clients throughout the delivery process helping them navigate trade-offs and make sustainable product-aligned choices.
Navigate politically complex multi-stakeholder environments with confidence and credibility backed by domain knowledge and delivery experience.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Presales Product Management Product Owners DevOps Customer Success and Customer Support to ensure smooth delivery and strong handovers.
Delivery ownership
Work in cross-functional project teams - including technical consultants business consultants Data Scientists solution architects and project managers - to deliver implementation projects on time within scope and in line with commercial and technical constraints.
Balance customer satisfaction with product integrity; you know when to push back when to adapt and when to escalate.
Ensure clear documentation effective customer training and structured handovers to support.
Work conditions
Hybrid work setup when not traveling (60% in our Utrecht office 40% from home).
Travel internationally as required (up to 50% of the time depending on project needs).
Job requirements
What you bring
Core requirements
At least a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in technical delivery roles (e.g. implementation consultant solution engineer or technical project lead) preferably in government or public sector.
Extensive hands-on experience with databases (Oracle PostgreSQL MariaDB Couchbase or similar) scripting (Bash Python or equivalents) cloud-based infrastructure (AWS) and containerization (Docker Kubernetes).
Strong grasp of system architectures and data flows with the ability to ask the right questions and to guide technical and data-related trade-offs.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to engage confidently with both technical and business audiences.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills allowing you to connect with people build trust and get things done.
A team player with a self-starter mindset: you take initiative support others and thrive in cross-functional environments.
Comfortable operating in complex political multi-stakeholder project environments.
Preferred qualifications
Fluency in Spanish French German and/or Dutch.
A background in Artificial Intelligence or Data Science ideally with extensive exposure to real-world implementation or ethical considerations.
Experience in or affinity with public employment staffing or HR tech.
Familiarity with delivery methodologies like Agile PMP IPMA Prince2 or similar; certifications are a plus.
