Functional Safety
Functional Safety in Automotive is described by ISO 26262 standard (see e.g. It is nowadays mandatory for each microcontroller / electronic system in Automotive. Our software solutions implement complex Safety Concept designed for a particular microcontroller where we can fully use our advantage of the microcontroller vendor to choose between HW / SW solution to achieve higher efficiency a flexibility.
NXP provides large portfolio of suitable microprocessors and microcontrollers supported with Functional Safety software to be used directly by our customers in their electronic control units. Examples of such software can be Core Self-Test Library ( and Safety Software Framework ( to join the future of innovation in our team at NXP
The Functional Safety SW team is responsible for development of the above mentioned products plus some other products which are not publicly disclosed yet. The demand for the Functional Safety SW is growing together with the trend of the autonomous cars.
By joining our Czech team you will have the opportunity to be part of a high performance and enthusiastic software development team in a friendly and dynamic work environment.
You will have the occasion to get in contact with different NXP Automotive teams (solution teams hardware designers customers engineers etc.) give feedback and propose solutions.
Your responsibilities:
- Design and develop embedded software for different microcontroller architectures
- Implementation of professional Functional Safety SW
- Collect and analyze customer specific needs on Functional Safety
- Follow software development process and quality standards
Your profile:
- Embedded C programmer
- Embedded software development experience
- Person with interest in Functional Safety in the modern cars
- Experience with software development process and quality standards is advantage
- Willingness and ability to learn new stuff trends
- Team player to keep excellent team spirit and information sharing
- Good level of English and communication
