Description

Position Summary:

The Therapist provides trauma-informed culturally responsive clinical mental health services to transition-aged youth (ages 1825) with lived experience in foster care and/or homelessness. Services are delivered in outpatient settings client homes and community-based locations such as shelters drop-in centers or virtuallywherever youth feel most safe and supported.

Responsibilities include completing clinical intakes assessments diagnoses and individualized treatment planning; providing ongoing therapeutic support using evidence-based practices; and coordinating care across systems. The therapist plays a key role in helping youth build stability emotional resilience life skills and long-term wellness through both individual and group therapy.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide trauma-informed culturally responsive and strength-based therapeutic services to transition-aged youth who have experienced homelessness complex trauma and barriers to engagement.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of DEI concepts including working with individuals who identify as BIPOC & LGBTQ.
  • Complete comprehensive intake assessments clinical diagnoses and individualized treatment plans using appropriate Evidence-Based Practices tailored to youth with lived experience instability and marginalization.
  • Deliver services in a variety of settings including the office virtually and in the community (e.g. confidential settings in community that the client identifies as safe and comfortable).
  • Facilitate therapeutic and educational groups focused on topics such as emotional regulation coping skills goal setting healthy relationships self-advocacy and independent living skills.
  • Collaborate with youth to develop meaningful youth-led treatment goals that build on their strengths reflect their cultural identity and support personal growth.
  • Ensure documentation is completed accurately and within the required 24-hour timeframe maintaining compliance with program agency and contractual guidelines.
  • Maintain productivity expectations of 60% of the employees time in direct service of clientele while balancing engagement-focused strategies and rapport-building with hard-to-reach youth.
  • Participate actively in individual and group clinical supervision multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations sharing insights and learning from peers.
  • Coordinate care with external supports such as case managers housing navigators primary care providers schools and community-based resources.
  • Engage in Continuous Quality Improvement activities to support service excellence and adherence to clinical standards and contractual goals.
  • Observe and uphold strict confidentiality across all program activities and client interactions in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with community mental health providers housing agencies drop-in centers and referral partners.
  • Work autonomously as supervisor will be working from a remote location
  • Solutions Focused mindset driven by thinking creatively to engage and support program participants
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the mental health and wellness of youth participating in the program.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing walking bending lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion talking and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time. Position also requires ability to drive with adequate vision.

Non-Physical Requirements:

Education

  • Masters degree in social work counseling clinical psychology or a related field leading to eligibility for clinical licensure

Experience

  • Three years of experience working with adolescents and young adults in a professional outpatient setting
  • 1 year case management experience

  • Operate from a strengths-based perspective
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills and excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to provide service in a culturally sensitive manner
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with referral sources
  • Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner within the community

Licensure Registration Certification

  • Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) Independent Clinical Social Work Associate (LICSWA): Required.
  • Valid Washington Drivers License and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities liability insurance provider

Travel

  • Willingness to drive to program participants in community to complete therapeutic session intakes and groups in company vehicle.
  • This could be up to 50% of practitioners time but not limited to (in community)

Employment is conditional upon:

  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
  • Compliance with the attached Addendum regarding Disclosure of Outside Employment for purposes of evaluating potential conflicts

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

Wage Range: $80000 to $90000 per year depending on experience

Addendum to Job Description

Disclosure of Outside Employment

Although Catholic Charities does not prohibit Child & Family Therapists from engaging in outside employment. The agency does require that the employees activity and conduct away from the job must not compete conflict with or compromise its interests or adversely affect job performance or the employees ability to fulfill all job responsibilities including reasonable scheduling requirements. To assure that any outside employment or business does not create a conflict of interest compromise the interest of Catholic Charities or otherwise adversely affect job performance the Youth and Young Adult Services Therapist - MHP must disclose any outside employment or businesses to Human Resources. Outside employment includes but is not limited to any private practice or any therapy related services regardless of whether the employee receives any benefit from such activities.

Human Resources will evaluate and discuss the situation with the employee and determine whether any particular measures may be available to avoid any potential conflicts of interest.
