Summary:
The MRI Technologist will perform a variety of routine and advanced MRI exams in a busy Level II hospital environment. This role involves imaging patients in acute outpatient trauma and ICU settings. The technologist will be responsible for accurate imaging acquisition safe use of MRI technology and compassionate patient care while working with high volumes and diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities:
Perform high-quality MRI procedures across multiple body systems (brain spine chest abdomen pelvis musculoskeletal).
Support advanced and specialized imaging studies including cardiac MRI breast MRI perfusion studies spectroscopy CINE and MRA.
Handle both ambulatory patients and total-assist inpatients (varying acuity).
Operate MRI equipment (GE required) and PACS for image storage and processing.
Perform post-processing tasks including multiplanar reconstruction (MRP) maximum intensity projection (MIP) and ADC mapping.
Prepare and administer contrast media safely; start peripheral IVs when needed.
Collaborate with physicians nurses and staff to ensure accurate imaging and patient comfort.
Maintain compliance with all MRI safety protocols and hospital policies.
Document all procedures and findings in Epic (required).
Daily caseload: 30 40 exams per technologist.
Shift: 4x10 Days 07:00 17:00 (weekends required).
Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period.
On-call: Not required (optional for agency staff).
Must have Epic experience.
No locals accepted (must live 50 miles away).
Block scheduling may be considered case-by-case.
Must submit all RTO at time of submission.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience required.
Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred.
Level I Trauma experience preferred.
Pediatric/NICU/PICU experience preferred.
License & Certifications:
ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT Required (HARDSTOP must have one of these).
ARRT (R) Preferred.
BLS Required.
Washington State Radiologic Technologist License Required (HARDSTOP).
Skills:
MRI procedures: Brain Spine (cervical thoracic lumbar) Abdomen Pelvis (male & female) Chest.
Advanced imaging: CINE diffusion perfusion spectroscopy cardiac MRI breast MRI.
Musculoskeletal: hip knee shoulder trauma imaging.
Post-processing: MIP MRP ADC mapping subtraction.
Professional: radiation safety contrast administration venipuncture patient monitoring.
Equipment proficiency: GE (required) PACS.
