Job Description
Title: Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer
Department: Cardiology
Type: 13-week Contract (Travel/Contract No local candidates within 50 miles)
Schedule: Day Shift 5x8 Hours Monday Friday 07:30 16:00 (variable starts 07:30 or 10:00 rotating weekends) On-Call required
Start Date: 09/09/2025
Summary:
The Echo Technologist will perform adult echocardiographic studies in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves completing high-quality imaging studies supporting diagnostic and interventional procedures and assisting cardiologists in evaluating cardiac function. The technologist will also participate in call rotations to provide 24/7 patient coverage.
Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of echocardiographic exams including 2D 3D bubble studies stress echocardiograms (treadmill and pharmacologic) and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).

Utilize advanced imaging techniques including color Doppler LV strain LV volume and proximal isovelocity surface area calculations.

Assist in studies requiring contrast agents and provide accurate imaging data for physician interpretation.

Operate calibrate and maintain echocardiography equipment (GE Philips Siemens Toshiba Hitachi SonoSite PACS).

Document findings in electronic medical records (any charting system required).

Provide patient education regarding testing procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety.

Collaborate with cardiology staff to ensure timely patient care delivery.

Participate in scheduled on-call rotations:

1 day per week (Mon Fri 18:30 07:30)

Weekends (Sat/Sun 16:30 08:00)

Must be able to work day shifts with variable start times and rotating weekends.

On-call coverage required.

Guaranteed hours: facility reserves the right to call off 1 shift per pay period (2 weeks).

All RTO must be submitted at time of submission.

No block scheduling.

No floating to other units.
Education:
-
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program.
Experience:
-
Minimum 1 year of recent Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer experience.

Experience in adult acute care outpatient ICU and ER settings preferred.
License & Certifications:
-
ARDMS (RDCS Adult) or CCI (RCS) Required

BLS Required
