Job Description
Job Title: Tech III-Surgical Tech
Job Location: Sierra Vista AZ
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Description:
- Ensure the operating room is ready for surgical procedures by setting up the sterile field instruments and equipment according to surgical protocols.
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and surgical assistants during procedures. Maintain a clear and organized sterile field.
- Adhere strictly to all principles of sterile technique to prevent surgical site infections. Monitor the sterile field for any breaches and take corrective action.
- Manage and maintain inventory of surgical instruments and supplies. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and ensure all necessary items are available.
- Operate and troubleshoot various surgical equipment including but not limited to suction machines cautery units and surgical lights.
- Actively participate in patient safety protocols including a time out to verify the patient procedure and site.
- Provide guidance and training to junior surgical techs and other staff members.
- Assist with accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient information.
