Position: Contract Python Backend Engineer
Employment Type: Contract (B2B)
Contract Length: 6 months (with potential for extension)
Location: Remote (EU/UK-based GMT timezone)

About the Project:
Our client is a forward-thinking company driving innovation in the electric vehicle sector. Were seeking a skilled Python backend engineer to contribute to a cutting-edge smart charging platform that is reshaping sustainable transportation. Youll be part of a remote-first team building scalable backend services that support intelligent charging experiences for users across the globe.
Your Role in the Team
As a Senior Python Backend Engineer youll take ownership of features and architecture work on cloud infrastructure and co-create in an environment that thrives on code reviews pair programming and test-first development. Your typical day might include:
- Building and refining scalable backend systems using Python and Django
- Designing infrastructure on AWS and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines
- Writing clean tested code that supports millions of users worldwide
- Collaborating closely with a global diverse team of engineers
- Advocating for best practices continuous improvement and thoughtful architecture
- Showcasing your work in regular demos and giving and receiving feedback
Requirements
What Were Looking For
- You have strong Python experience and have built backend services using Django
- Youre familiar with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP) and tools like Terraform CDK or CloudFormation
- You understand how to ship code with confidencethrough CI/CD testing and monitoring
- Youre comfortable with Docker Kubernetes and scalable system design
- You know your way around relational and schema-less databases
- You bring a collaborative spirit and love helping others grow
- Bonus points if youve dabbled in Go or or have experience with GraphQL and gRPC.
