The Business Unit Director will lead the go-to-market strategy drive revenue and build a scalable sales operation. This role is primarily commercial with cross-functional coordination across product operations and R&D. This is a strategic growth hire for a fast-moving AgTech company. The ideal candidate combines agronomic sales experience with entrepreneurial drive and a passion for sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Development & Distribution
- Build and manage a multi-channel sales network (direct distributor co-op ecommerce)
- Identify and activate strategic B2B clients and partners
- Create technical commercial and promotional materials
2. Sales Execution & Enablement
- Negotiate and Execute Sales
- Structure hire and lead the commercial team (reps partners support)
- Design incentive plans and CRM-driven sales funnels
3. Brand Awareness & Demand Generation
- Represent the company at agri-events trade shows field days
- Co-develop communication assets (Web Social Media Blog webinars)
- Define and execute ad campaigns content marketing and PR
4. Product & Portfolio Strategy
- Refine product-market fit by crop region and buyer type
- Define and update the product portfolio (Base / Plus / Premium)
- Set pricing margin and volume targets by tier
- Work closely with R&D and Ops to align product timelines
5. Customer Success & Feedback Loop
- Launch agronomic support system post-sale (seasonal reviews soil health analysis)
- Capture insights to refine offers and product positioning
- Build strong case studies and referral pipeline
Qualifications :
Candidate Profile
Experience & Skills
- 8 years in agri-inputs agri-tech or specialty fertilizers
- Track record in building B2B channels and closing high-value deals
- Experience working with cooperatives large farms and agri-distributors
- Strong team leadership and people development skills
- Solid understanding of soil health regenerative ag or biofertilizers
- Fluent in Spanish and English
