We are seeking a Human Resources Expert to collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives and to guide leaders through employee relations issues. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations including union employee relations benefits administration compliance and implementing HR policies as well as supporting talent acquisition requirements range from 5 to 7 years in a generalist HR role experience in union environments and a high level of knowledge in Canadian Labor Laws benefits platforms and CNEEST. This position will oversee the manufacturing and the Tech Center site. This position will supervise the Payroll Specialist and HR Generalist.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and serve as a resource for employees and managers by addressing concerns resolving conflicts and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in the development implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage employee benefits programs to ensure accurate and up-to-date resources. Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related questions and concerns.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS systems to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Manage a streamlined onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Ensure employee records are up to date by both legal requirements and internal standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR practices to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the payroll administrator to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports and analytics to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Support the planning and execution of compliance and professional development training programs.
  • Monitor and maintain employee training records.

Special Project

  • Lead HR Expert temp position to organize update and improve HR department documentation and processes. Process Duration: 20 weeks

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Human Resource Management or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in an HR role including 2 years in an HR Generalist capacity.
  • Able to work on-site
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws HR best practices
  • Union Environment experiences
  • Benefits Management and CNEEST cases experience
  • Able to manage two separate buildings (close locations)
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint) Nethris Success Factors
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
