Job Description

What Youll Do:

This position is responsible for:

  • Relieves Laboratory Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) of non-routine administrative duties in implementation and maintenance of the quality management system of the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) Consumer Protection Laboratory (CPL) and the Analytical Toxicology Laboratory (ATL) in accordance with program and accreditation requirements (e.g. ISO 17025)
  • Makes recommendations on procedures & resources to ensure compliance of quality system
  • Possesses the authority to stop any testing if it jeopardizes the quality and integrity of test results
  • Participates in routine quality assurance meetings with ADDL CPL and ATL sections and Quality Team
  • Collaborates on quality program procedure creation revision and implementation
  • Develops & conducts routine quality management system training in various formats (e.g. discussion power point presentation or creation of materials that would allow self-guided training)
  • Reviews approves and distributes SOPs
  • Maintains records and documents in the quality management software
  • Supports internal auditing program
  • Assists with facilitating external audits and accreditation assessments
  • Contributes to routine quality management reviews
  • Plans & works on calibration and verification of instrument
  • Creates and reviews control charts
  • Initiates and follows-up on action items
  • Initiates reviews & closes corrective actions & actions for improvement and performs risk assessments
  • Assists in the collection and interpretation of quality performance indicators
  • Maintains software related to quality management and training
  • Coordinates specific auxiliary functions falling under supervisors (i.e. QAM) authority to administer QA programs and/or special projects
  • Participates in quality related meetings & conferences
  • Reviews and approves USDA Pesticide Data Program (PDP) data packages to meet the clients and ISO 17025 requirements
  • Fulfils USDA PDP Quality Assurance Unit requirements
  • Serves as designated Quality Assurance Officer

12 weeks paid childbirth leave at 70% with option to supplement to 100%

Expanded maternity health care benefits available to state employees enrolled in the Ohio Med PPO and Ohio Med NN (narrow network) medical plan options. Several prenatal childbirth and post-childbirth services are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to employees utilizing network providers.

Examples of services now covered by network providers at 100% include:

o Prenatal care including physician visits and examinations.

o Home health care services designated as maternity care (for expectant members on bed rest).

o Inpatient claims for all types of delivery.

o Inpatient NICU claims from birth through discharge.

o Postpartum care including office visits for follow-up and procedures/treatments directly related to maternity.

Medications prescribed for both antepartum and postpartum conditions (e.g. morning sickness postpartum depression). Medical services provided by non-network providers will be processed at the applicable coinsurance deductible and out-of-pocket limits.

Prescription drugs that are directly related to maternity care are covered with no copay. The State of Ohio has collaborated with the prescription drug third-party administrator (OptumRx) to provide a list of covered medications that can be approved for zero copay via prior authorization from providers.

36 months training or 36 months experience in business administration management science or public administration. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code applicants must also have valid commercial drivers license.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration management science or public administration; 12 months training or 12 months experience in supervisory administrative &/or managerial position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code applicants must also have valid commercial drivers license.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 12 months training or 12 months experience in supervisory administrative managerial &/or staff position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code applicants must also have valid commercial drivers license.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
