Primary Purpose:
Supports the mission vision and strategic goals of CISD Fine Arts. Works collaboratively with district staff and outside personnel to provide educational opportunities for students participating in such programs.
Education / Certification:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate.
- Masters degree in educational administration or content area is preferred.
- Certified T-TESS appraiser preferred.
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Background knowledge and training in interdisciplinary curriculum development.
- Demonstrated communication skills both written and oral.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Knowledge of sound curriculum and instructional practices K-12.
- Extensive knowledge of learning theory.
Experience / Other Requirements:
- Three years of experience as a classroom teacher.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
- Assists with the development of rigorous challenging curriculum (the writing scope and sequence and interim exams) and high performance standards and guidelines for Fine Arts
- Assists with the development implementation and monitoring of a strong Fine Arts
- Assists in development conducting or arranging for staff development sessions including sessions on delivery of instruction and enriched learning in classroom settings.
- Supports and reinforces the use of consistent Fine Arts curriculum.
- Assists in promoting the appreciation of the fine arts instructional programs in the public and school communities.
- Serves on local advisory committees planning teams regional and state Fine Arts organizations.
- Assists in coordinating needed repairs and maintenance of fine arts facilities.
- Attends District fine arts programs contests exhibitions productions and events.
- Assists in evaluating the effectiveness of novice and/or struggling teachers and provides support including classroom coaching and demonstrations appropriate to various levels of instruction.
Staff Development
- Assists in planning a program of professional growth and development for staff members at the campus and District level.
Consultation
- Assists in providing resources and materials to support staff in accomplishing program goals.
- Attends and assists with parent meetings including parent advisory committee meetings.
Budget and Inventory
- Participates in grant-writing activities to obtain program funding.
- Assists with the selection and purchase of supplemental equipment and supplies for the program.
- Assists in maintaining a current inventory of supplies and equipment and recommend the disposal of equipment when necessary.
Policy Reports and Law
- Compiles maintains and files all physical and computerized reports records and other documents required.
- Complies with policies established by federal and state law State Board of Education rule and the local board policy.
- Performs other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
- Responsible for properly maintaining district records adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance and learning the records retention schedule for department records.
