Controller Taby Sweden

The selected Individual will be responsible for all aspects of financial management and program finance activities as well as lead and develop a Financial Analyst and provide oversight and direction to the support teams. The position will report directly to the Surveillance VP of Finance and will manage all financial activities and reporting for the Sweden Surveillance site along with the program pricing and program analyst function.

This position requires proactive leadership and significant interaction with General Manager and Program Managers to ensure alignment regarding strategy operating and financial objectives. The Controller is a business partner to various functional teams including Service Programs Engineering and Sales. This role is responsible for R&D reporting including funded projects and internal research and development.

Must be able to work within deadlines deliver on commitments and hold teams accountable. Requires the ability to provide top level planning and control guidance as well as the ability to summarize and present information to all levels of management.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the Surveillance Sweden Finance Team to ensure quality and timely reporting of financial statements.
  • Operate as an accounting leader/resource with strong expertise in accounting issues faced by manufacturing environments including cost accounting inventory management revenue recognition variance analysis etc. Familiarity and adherence with ASC606 revenue recognition guidelines and review of all Contracts and Purchase Orders to ensure proper revenue recognition treatment.
  • Coordinate with the FBS and Finance COE teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Work extensively with operations personnel to assure issues that may impact quarterly and annual forecasts are addressed early to increase likelihood forecasts will be achieved or exceeded.
  • Develop financial and business processes to improve operating efficiency and quality reporting.
  • Assist business unit leadership in establishing operating plans and budgets.
  • Present monthly and quarterly financial statements forecasts and analytical reports to the VP Finance Surveillance. Provide recommendations for improving overall performance and profitability.
  • Oversee and direct the interaction with external and internal auditors and ability to timely support audit requirements.
  • Assist in developing ideas and actively help lead Surveillance Sweden regarding strategic and tactical management issues bringing financial and general business expertise to the sites leadership.
  • Ensure adequate financial controls that provide a balance between finance goals and operations goals.
  • Prepare and/or review inputs artifacts and outputs for monthly operating reviews program earned value EACs financial overviews and other reporting activities as required.
  • Support monthly close process including results and variance analysis as required.
  • Perform business case analysis and return on investment (ROI) analysis in support of new business.
  • Develop and Maintain Program initiation and Work breakdown structures in SAP
  • Estimate at Complete (EAC) development and approval. Calculation of revenue recognition on Percent Complete basis on Over Time Program revenue on quarterly basis.
  • Other activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years applicable work experience in Accounting.
  • Priorwork experience within theGovernment & Defense industry is preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience managing Fixed Price and Cost-type contracts.
  • ERP experience; SAP experience is preferred.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
