Summary



King Countys Finance and Business Operations Division Treasury section is hiring for multiple Short Term Temporary Revenue Collections Processor and Cashier positions!
*These temporary positions are expected to start in September and end in December 2025*

Scope of Job Duties: To be considered for this opportunity you must at a minimum demonstrate knowledge skill and ability to:
  • Operate Mail Opener to open and prepare incoming property tax payments for processing.
  • Identify payments that cannot be posted and return to sender for various reasons.
  • Review and enter Name & Address changes; enter account/parcel numbers into formatted excel spreadsheet with accuracy speed and high attention to detail.
  • Collect & process cash checks cards & other payments primarily for property taxes.
  • Reconcile collections against subsystems and respond to questions about payments.
  • Support one or more processing teams to include Cashiers Revenue Collections and others as assigned.
  • Demonstrate strong communication interpersonal and customer service skills in verbal written and electronic formats.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to work in the office.
  • 10-Key proficiency with high attention to detail
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to lift a tray of mail (less than ten pounds)
  • Are a team player with a can-do attitude!
  • Can work collaboratively with a diverse team.
We would love it if you have:
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with LEAN processes and principles
  • Experience with SharePoint MS Teams and other collaborative online tools
TheFinance and Business Operations Divisions mission is to provide exceptional customer value for accounting procurement treasury and small business services. We are actively seeking employees whose behavior is in alignment with our divisions core values.

Other Position Information:
This position is Non-Exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore is overtime eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule every other Thursday comprising of 35 hour workweek; 7 to 8 hours shifts within the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pmMonday through Friday. This position is represented by Teamsters 117.

The work associated with this position will primarily be 100% in office.Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual safety precautions are required including the wearing of masks in some situations.
