We are FBC UK Foxs Burtons Companies! And we bake the UKs most incredible biscuits (we might be slightly biased but we will leave that for you to judge).
FBC UK was a match made in heaven with two of the top UK biscuits manufacturers (Burtons Biscuits and Foxs Biscuits) coming together to create one unique integrated company.

We bake our incredible biscuits at eight bakeries across the UK located at Isle of Arran Livingston Blackpool Llantarnam Edinburgh Kirkham Batley & Dorset and our HQ in St Albans. What does your typical day look like
Provide a timely and effective service to production on all webs and conveyors ensuring safety quality and hygiene standards are met. Additional duties will include site service checks throughout the factory keeping records up to date and general offline maintenance.
Other key actions will be but not limited to:
- Carry out planned web / conveyor repair / renewal
- Attend and repair webbing breakdowns on all lines
- Carry out any remedial work and plan week end activities
- Obtain prices for replacement stock and repairs
- Carry out monthly web stock count
- Carry out tracking system and roller repairs
- Carry out engineering service checks/repairs and report findings and fill out log of activities
- Be proactive in preventing webbing / conveyor failures and improving overall equipment performance by generating and implementing ideas and modifications
- Provide a service that meets food safety standards whilst maintaining standards of housekeeping and personal hygiene
- Maintain and help improve health and safety standards and ensure that staff carry out work in a safe environment by eliminating minimising and controlling risks to themselves and others
- Cooperate with contractors and as far as possible ensure their adherence to site rules health and safety and food safety standards
- Responsible for general day to day offline maintenance tasks required for the site and in particular relating to audits
- Undertake training as required to further enhance individuals skills and knowledge so that the level of support to the front line operations remains effective and efficient
- Provide advice and guidance to Operators on the utilisation/operation of webbing
- Identify performance issues and implement appropriate and pragmatic solutions through the use of problem solving skills tools and techniques liaising with the Area Engineering Manager as appropriate
- Maximise the use of the labour and skills available by being flexible in terms of work allocation and scheduling within the team
- In consultation with the appropriate personnel be able to correctly prioritise the work load for the overall benefit of the site performance
- Must be able to work to agreed deadlines where necessary
- Must be willing to work under the guidance of departmental and site KPIs to maximise business performance
What are the key ingredients needed for the role
- Level 2 NVQ Performing Engineering Operations (or willingness to undertake)
- Good standard of education (numeracy and literacy) either GCSE English & Maths (Grade A-C)/equivalent qualifications/equivalent experience
- Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to undertake)
- Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
- Experience as a Process Operator or experience in webbing/repairs/renewals/vulcanising (desirable)
- Experience of general factory maintenance (desirable)
- Experience using computers and associated software including Microsoft word excel
