Longview Rehabilitation Hospital is a 36-bed inpatient rehab facility located at 701 E Loop 281 in Longview Texas. It specializes in helping patients recover from serious illnesses or injuries that have impacted their ability to function independently.

Highlights:

  • Comprehensive Inpatient Rehab: Offers physical occupational and speech therapy for patients recovering from stroke brain injury orthopedic trauma and other complex conditions.
  • Intensive Therapy Model: Patients receive at least three hours of therapy per day five days a week under the supervision of a rehabilitation physician and 24-hour rehab nursing.
  • Personalized Care Plans: Treatment is tailored to each patients goals with a focus on restoring independence and transitioning safely back home.

How youll contribute

The pharmacist is responsible for the dispensing of prescription medications to hospital inpatients. Provides information about medications and helps patients and clinical staff understand instructions provided by the physician. Monitors the patients health and progress to assure medications are effective and safe. Adheres to state and federal regulations as well as Joint Commission standards.

Essential Functions:

Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
Reviews interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
Provides drug information and education to medical staff healthcare professionals and patients and pharmacy students.
Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry. Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors Degree Required; Doctoral Degree Preferred

  • Licenses: Pharmacy License in the state of Texas
