Those with an associate degree or bachelors degree AND whohave completed coursework or other training consistent withthe teacher assistant program standards3. Meet one (1) of the following requirements:a. Successfully passed the ParaPro Assessment. ORb. Complete at least 2 years of study at an institution of highereducation ORc. Completion of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification upon TO: Building Administrator/Director of Pupil PersonnelJOB GOAL: To provide 1:1 instructional physical social-emotional behavioral and other directsupport and services to students with disabilities under the supervision and direction of RESPONSIBILITIES OF TEACHER ASSISTANT -Special Education II:1. Communicates high and clear expectations for students.2. Fosters independence and grit in all learners.3. Implements instructional and physical supports and at times behavior interventionstrategies and program changes as directed by the Case Manager and/or relatedservice(s) provider as decided upon by the team.4. Assists student(s) with physical tasks and daily living skills such as eating and drinkingputting on and taking off outerwear moving from room to room using the bathroomwashing hands changing diapers etc.5. Exhibits attributes of reliable attendance promptness dependability and professionalethics; Uses effective communication skills with students and colleagues (spokenwritten and non-verbal); Completes all requested forms and data collections in anaccurate and timely manner; Perform the functions of the position in accordance withthe: RI Teacher Assistant Standards; RI Professional Code of Conduct; and all lawsregulations school district policies directives the mission of the district school-basedplans and administrative priorities / requests.12.
