Qualifications:1) High School Diploma Business Education2) Ability to type 60 words per minute.3) Working knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment and machines including the ability to learn basic data entry skills.4) Ability to work with statistical information accurately.5) Ability to relate well with pupils parents and staff.6) School Committee reserves the right to waive any of the to: Principal/Director of Pupil Personnel Services or their Goal: To assist in the efficient operation of the Guidance OfficePerformance Responsibilities:1) Performs the usual office routines and practices. Operates a variety of office equipment including copiers fax machine typewriter computer and assigned software.2) Receives and routes all incoming calls to guidance counselor adjustment counselor teachers and administrators.3) Maintains such students records including current credit information for all high school students tracks missing and incomplete grades and credits for new students.4) Maintains test scores for MCAS.5) Assists counselors in preparing materials as requested for college and high school applications.6) Maintains logs and schedules for counselors as required.7) Types correspondence forms transcripts placement data etc. as necessary.8) Responsible for filing and retrieving such correspondence cards reports etc.9) Maintains college military and career catalogs and communicates with their representatives either by phone or visits to the school. 10) Track students daily and class attendance per tardy policy and sends email from assistant principal.(Friday afterschool) notifying students and parents of detention hours student earned that week or term due to number of times student was late to school and class.11) Push forward absences at the end of the day in class attendance to monitor class attendance failures.12) Respond to parent and student emails with questions regarding attendance and tardy policy.13) Performs any other clerical duties as may be assigned by the Principal/Director of Pupil Personnel Services or their designee.14) Distribution of MCAS results to parents and staff members as necessary. 15) Serves as authorized agent for the Town of Holbrook in providing Proof of Employment forms (working papers) for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to all Holbrook residents age 14 17 years (not exclusive to Holbrook Jr. Sr. High School students).16) Aids staff in use of copy machines telephones and fax machine.17) Performs student enrollment procedures which include requesting records and completion of all registration forms. Assists in smooth transition of new students to Holbrook Middle. High School.18) Performs all student withdrawal procedures including return of school property (books chromebooks yondr pouches etc.) collecting withdrawal grades from teachers and forwarding of academic discipline and health records to new school.19) To be knowledgeable of district policies and procedures.20) Communicates with parents and teachers to ensure the availability of work for students who are absent.21) Contributes to the school climate presenting a positive image and setting the tone for how others perceive the school.22) Performs public relations work as a liaison to parent organizations community organizations and local newspapers.23) Communicates with parents and students to determine appropriate staff member to address issue.24) Contributes to the positive flow of duties in the guidance of Employment: In accordance with the Collective Bargaining : Performance of this position will be evaluated annually.
