What Youll Do

As a Material Handler youll play a vital role i Performs all material handling tasks including the movement of parts loading and unloading trucks keeping accurate scrap records operates all material handling equipment and maintains all grounds for cleanliness and organization. Loads unloads and moves materials within or near plant or work site. Your responsibilities will include:

• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Opens containers.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets trays racks and shelves by hand.
• Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
• Handles the movement of chemicals with care and follow all safety procedures accordingly
• Counts weighs and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases bales or other containers.
• Loads truck for Industrial Truck Operator.

• Maintains general housekeeping maintenance on receiving docks and clearing of brush as needed.
• Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
• Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist cleans work area machines and equipment to assist machine operators.
• Assembles crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles.
• Shovels loose materials such as sand gravel metals plastics or chemicals into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows scrap truck or barrels.
• Operates industrial truck pallet jacks or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Maintain all surrounding areas for cleanliness orderliness and organization per established 5S practices.
• Picks up soiled rags weekly for outside cleaning
• Cross trained to operate chip spinners including clearing spinners of chips as needed.

What Youll Bring

• Previous experience as Material Handler (Minimum 2-3 years)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondences and memos.
• Add subtract multiply and divide using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
• Safely and properly operate various material handling equipment.
• Tow Motor Certified
