Our mental health program The Counselling Group (TCG) offers a range of therapy services to people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
Position Summary
The Counselling Group is seeking a passionate and skilled Art Therapist to join our dynamic team for 14 hours per week. The ideal candidate will bring creativity clinical expertise and a deep commitment to supporting clients through expressive therapies. Services will include both individual and group work with clients across the lifespan ages 5 and up.
This is a part-time position (14 hours/week) with the potential for schedule flexibility as well as increase in hours.
Services may be delivered in-person virtually or in a hybrid model depending on client needs
The main duties of the role include:
Provide individual and group art therapy to clients aged 5 and up with sensitivity to cultural linguistic and socio-economic diversity
Assess client needs and develop individualized treatment plans integrating art-based interventions
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists and community partners to ensure coordinated care
Participate in supervision case consultation and professional development activities
Qualifications/Experience
Preference will be given to candidates who:
Are a member of a regulatory college in Ontario authorized to practice psychotherapy (e.g. CRPO CPO OCSWSSW)
Speak other languages in addition to English
Professional training in art therapy from a recognized program
Masters degree in social work counselling psychology or a related field; in some cases a bachelors degree combined with relevant training and experience may be considered
Registration in good standing with an Ontario regulatory college permitting the practice of psychotherapy (preferred)
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and addressing trauma mental health challenges and life transitions
Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to provide services in languages other than English is a strong asset
