Job Description

(Full-Time Nights) BHU Charge Nurse

Schedule: Full-time positions - 3 days/week; part-time positions: 2 days/week (days: 6:45 am to 7:15 pm; nights: 6:45 pm to 7:15 am) including rotating weekends and holidays. All schedules are subject to change based on business needs.

Our newly reopening Behavioral Health Unit is dedicated to meeting a vital need in our community. How youll contribute

A Charge Nurse in BHU who excels in this role:

  • Proficient in assessing patient conditions and making timely determinations of patient needs.

  • Implements leadership and team coordination by supervising nursing staff delegating tasks effectively and ensuring smooth unit operations by providing direct support to all staff members.

  • Clear compassionate communication with patients families and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.

  • Facilitate and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards through engagement and support of PI and other initiatives.

  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care including patient transfer discharge referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

What were looking for

Applicants must have a current Nevada State RN license and possess a minimum of an associates degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within 30 days of hire.

  • A minimum of (1) year working in an acute hospital setting is required.
