Job Description
Job Title: Permanent Physician - Hematology Oncology

This Hematology/Oncology practice is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care while promoting an excellent work-life balance for its providers. The state-of-the-art Cancer Center with a recent $10 million expansion includes beautiful patient-friendly amenities and is staffed by a collaborative team of hematology oncologists radiation oncologists and advanced practice providers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Primarily outpatient practice with minimal inpatient responsibilities.
- Work Monday to Friday 9-hour days.
- Care for adult and geriatric patients with a 50% focus on Hematology and 50% on Oncology.
- Manage approximately 12-16 patients per day.
- Perform required procedures including management of VAD/CV Catheters & Intrathecal chemotherapy.
- Participate in Tumor Board meetings order tests and images and prescribe treatments.
- Work closely with staff including APPs and nurse-administered chemotherapy.
- Provide support before during and after each procedure.
- Opportunity to teach CRNA students.
- Attend weekly tumor boards with on-site specialists.
Qualifications:
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology or Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Hematology/Oncology (must be ABIM or AOBIM).
- Iowa medical license or IMLC (or willingness to obtain one).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
- DEA and CDS certifications (or willingness to obtain).
License and Certification Requirements:
- Must have a valid Iowa medical license or IMLC.
- BLS certification required (or willingness to obtain).
- DEA certification required (or willingness to obtain).
- Controlled Substance (CSR/CDS) certification required (or willingness to obtain).
