Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Under the general supervision of the Warden plans develops and monitors institutional efforts to maintain compliance with agency policies procedures and post orders.
- Coordinates annual review process for agency policies/procedures and standards.
- Establishes maintains and updates institutional accreditation files on an annual basis; reports status to appropriate personnel.
- Manages the compliance review system by performing monthly in-house checklists.
- Prepares reports for Warden at conclusion of review process.
- Conducts inspections to ensure compliance with ACA and SCDC policies/procedures; observes and records discrepancies of compliance/non-compliance and reports the same to Warden.
- Coordinates with department heads to ensure standards compliance.
- Inform supervisors as to all changes with impact any ACA standards.
- Coordinates and/or provides applicable training/orientation for employees as such relates to meeting ACA standards.
Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelors degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- Eighteen (18) months experience in correctional security military or police work.
- A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for 1/2 of required experience.
- Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
