The Senior Special Projects Officer-IWC Support Services is the focal point for executing the Irregular Warfare Implementation Guidance as the Joint proponent for security.
- Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop a strategic framework for security suitable for submission to the Irregular Warfare (IW) Executive Steering Committee (ESC) / Working Group (WG) IAW the IW ESC/WG review schedule.
- Provide presentations to stabilization stakeholders across the DoD and interagency on proposed frameworks for security to build consensus.
- Integrate security frameworks in Joint and Army doctrine.
- Prepare course material detailing security frameworks for training and leader education both virtual and in person.
- Develop case studies that highlight security frameworks across the spectrum of competition crisis conflict and a return to competition/cooperation.
- Develop best-of-breed examples and annexes G (civil-military Operations) and V (interagency coordination) for operations and contingency plans.
- Other prepotency work related to the security frameworks as determined by the USG.
- Collaborate closely with the Program Manager to align engagements and other work with the project plan.
- Masters degree in National Security International Relations or Business
- Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in IW activities with at least 5 years operating at the operational or strategic level. SOF experience strongly preferred.
- Experience advising senior government officials and working within DoD and interagency environments.
- One (1) year experience in at least two (2) of the following areas: Personnel Management Administration Logistics Planning and Management Program Management Protocol Public Affairs or Political Military Affairs.
- Demonstrated knowledge on Irregular Warfare Gray zone activities functional understanding of the policy process and Washington D.C. diplomatic and military organizations and culture and the ability to interact with senior foreign representatives.
- Must possess a Top-Secret Clearance.
