Job Description
Job Title: Locum Physician - Surgery - Neuro
Summary:
Join an esteemed facility in Colorado Springs known for its commitment to providing high-quality healthcare. We are seeking a dedicated neurosurgery locum to provide coverage during holidays with ongoing opportunities beginning in January 2026 as schedules are finalized. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a Trauma Level I emergency room setting at a facility that values excellence in patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide neurosurgical care including surgical traumas related to cranial and spine issues.
- Respond to 24-hour call duties from 7 AM to 7 AM.
- Work collaboratively with support staff including RNs and MAs.
- Participate in the scheduling of maximum 7 consecutive shifts per stint per month.
- Complete required EMR training prior to assignment utilizing Epic systems.
- Coordinate with local surgeons for patient handoffs post-locum period.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Neurological Surgery.
- Completion of Neurosurgical residency.
- Must have clean malpractice and background records.
- Understanding of EMR training requirements and commitment to completion prior to start.
- Availability for any scheduled stints as outlined.
- Active Colorado medical license or IMLC (LOQ at time of submission).
- Active DEA registration valid for the full duration of the assignment.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active Colorado License or IMLC.
- Active DEA for full duration in Colorado.
- Board Certification in Neurological Surgery.
