You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAlberta Health Services is currently seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about caring for infants who require specialized care within a large and diverse neonatal program. This role will allow you to apply your clinical experience as part of a large NNP team. Alberta Health Services (AHS) has an exciting opportunity to join the Stollery Childrens Hospital Neonatal intensive care program that operates at three sites - the University of Alberta Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton and the Sturgeon Community Hospital in St. Albert Alberta Canada. The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) provides specialized care and management of neonates particularly those who are premature or sick patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and intermediate care nurseries. The NNP collaborates with program staff attending physicians and specialists to acquire and utilize best practice- evidence and resources needed for individual situations and to make adjustments and optimize program delivery. The Edmonton zone NICU model of care allows for expert advanced clinical services 24 hours a day and seven days a week allowing for both continuity of patient and family centered care and for the NNP an opportunity for skill retention.
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess diagnose order and interpret diagnostic tests prescribe treatment and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems Education and Research to increase care quality promote appropriate use of health services and inform and influence healthcare NOTE: This position is unionized and represented by the Alberta Union of Nurse Practitioners (AUNP). Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program with a minimum of a Masters registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Office Suite knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with the development and/or implementation of evidence-based with program with clinical or scientific research.
