Job Description

Job Title: Generator Control and Protection Engineer

Location: Houston TX. (Onsite)

Job Description:

  • Design & Engineering:
  • Single-line diagrams
  • Control logic for new generators and retrofitting existing ones. This includes selecting and applying protective relays and other equipment.
  • Develop protection schemes for generators including differential overcurrent and distance protection.
  • Configure protective relays and associated control systems.
  • Perform fault analysis and power system studies using simulation tools.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure systems comply with NEC IEEE IEC and other relevant standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of protection settings test results and system configurations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in power system protection specifically generator protection.
  • Proficiency in protection software tools (ETAP PSCAD etc.).
  • Familiarity with protective relays (Siemens ABB etc.).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)Systems Engineering Allen Bradley PLC Electrical Engineering Instrumentation.
