Job Description
Job Title: Generator Control and Protection Engineer
Location: Houston TX. (Onsite)
Job Description:
- Design & Engineering:
- Single-line diagrams
- Control logic for new generators and retrofitting existing ones. This includes selecting and applying protective relays and other equipment.
- Develop protection schemes for generators including differential overcurrent and distance protection.
- Configure protective relays and associated control systems.
- Perform fault analysis and power system studies using simulation tools.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure systems comply with NEC IEEE IEC and other relevant standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of protection settings test results and system configurations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in power system protection specifically generator protection.
- Proficiency in protection software tools (ETAP PSCAD etc.).
- Familiarity with protective relays (Siemens ABB etc.).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.
Mandatory Skills:
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)Systems Engineering Allen Bradley PLC Electrical Engineering Instrumentation.
