PUBLIC HEALTH GENERALIST III Under general supervision perform one or more of the duties of this category and related work as required: a. Oversee technical and administrative tasks and make recommendations to improve processes or resolve issues knowledge of ongoing analysis of various administrative functions or services and independent decision-making across various administrative areas. b. Executes details of communication programs and projects. This includes planning and conducting special events proofreading and editing drafting materials and developing and preparing reports. c. Coordinate client support with providers and care teams monitor caseloads analyze reports and facilitate team meetings. d. Gather organize research and monitor emergency management data and implement details of an emergency management plan or program. e. Perform tasks in budget and/or fiscal management for an agency. f. Perform human resources work and assist in an operational capacity. These duties may include conducting recruitment and selection processes; administering workers compensation and/or employee benefits programs approving employee transactions for payroll processing and providing policy guidance and information to management and employees. g. Conduct needs assessments and in-depth interviews to determine clients eligibility for financial and medical assistance programs. Advocate for and assist individuals and families in accessing services such as mental health housing referrals and skills training. Apply explain and interpret policies to clients and service providers. Collaborate with public and private service providers to coordinate client participation in various services and contribute to the operation of an employment resource center. h. Assist with the analysis data management research and policy development related to a department or units operations and services. This includes assisting in monitoring assessing and reporting on business processes and activities and analyzing indicators of performance quality quantity and efficiency. Coordinate with department-specific programs and various administrative functions such as financial analysis procurement human resources management information and technology projects. i. j. Provide nutritional assistance to low-risk clients such as: interviews clients to obtain dietary histories and related nutritional information; certifies and/or re-certifies clients for the WIC program; conducts dietary assessments and obtains clinical data; assesses for health risks and/or refers high risk clients to nutritionist for follow-up education; provides general nutrition education to low risk clients; prescribes appropriate food packages for clients; assists with nutrition education and provides community outreach to clients. Provide routine and emergency care to sick and injured students under indirect supervision. Administer medications maintain the health room and follow established protocols and guidance from the Public Health Nurse. Provide comprehensive support to new staff by facilitating classroom orientation and experiential learning through training materials classroom instruction and job coaching. Ensure the quality and consistency of services provided throughout the program with direction from the School Health Program Coordinator. k. Perform technical work in the preparation research and presentation of statistical and data research. Utilizes databases and statistical techniques to perform data analysis and program evaluation. l. Research training program offerings assist in curriculum development deliver training programs plan and facilitate group sessions. Facilitate public health education sessions for a wide range of youth and adult audiences ensuring content is accessible and relevant to each group. Deliver engaging culturally sensitive and age-appropriate lessons focused on key aspects of public health including community health disease prevention mental health substance abuse prevention and physical activity. Employ a diverse range of educational methods to actively engage participants.
