Job Description
Position : SQL DBA L3
Location : Richmond VA
Job Description:
- Provide L3 support for SQL Server and other database platforms hosted on-premises and in Azure including performance tuning backup/restore and troubleshooting.
- Manage and optimize Azure SQL Database Azure SQL Managed Instance and other Azure data services (e.g. Cosmos DB Azure Database for PostgreSQL/MySQL).
- Design implement and maintain HA/DR solutions using Always On Geo-replication and Azure Site Recovery.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell T-SQL or Azure CLI to streamline database operations and deployments.
- Utilize tools like Azure Monitor Log Analytics and Query Store to proactively monitor and optimize database performance.
- Implement and maintain database security best practices including encryption auditing and role-based access control in compliance with organizational policies.
- Act as the escalation point for critical database incidents perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
- Work closely with DevOps application teams and architects to support database needs and maintain comprehensive documentation
- Stay updated with the latest Azure and database technologies recommending improvements and innovations to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
