Fire Protection Sprinkler Technician

Essential Functions- including but not limited to:

• Perform installation testing repair inspections on sprinkler systems and other types of fire protection systems and equipment as needed in compliance with electrical and fire safety codes.
• Ensure systems are functioning correctly and address any issues that arise.
• Ensure that all systems meet local and national fire safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot fire sprinkler systems.
• Complete inspection reports and repair work orders via mobile device and submit them on a timely basis.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Pull material for jobs as required.
• Communicate with customers to review work and answer any service quality or technical questions.
• Other job specific functions may be required depending on level.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service.

Qualifications Experience and Education- including but not limited to:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working on fire sprinkler systems or related systems is required.
• Must be able to obtain any licenses or certifications as required in the area that you are working.
• Experience working with fire protection and suppression systems is required.
• Perform simple tasks independently.
• Knowledge of local and national fire protection codes.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Computer phone and tablet literate.
• Well organized self-motivated flexible and a team player.
• Ability to perform physical and mental functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to drive to and from jobs and have a valid drivers license.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Emergency Service shifts are a requirement for this job. Qualified candidates must be able to respond to NY emergency service calls.
• Ability to work on Job sites that may include construction sites and other locations where personal protective equipment will be required and work in confined spaces.
• The position has frequent periods of stress.
• Job sites may include schools hospitals jails pharmaceutical companies and other companies that may require additional background checks and medical and drug screens.
