Cimarron is seeking junior-levelStructural Engineersto support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the US Air Forces Sentinel program (GBSD) in Ogden UT. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design construction and integration of the Sentinel launch infrastructure at locations to include Vandenberg AFB CA F.E. Warren AFB WY Malmstrom AFB MT and Minot AFB ND. Sentinel is a vital nuclear modernization program that will recapitalize the nations aging ground based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). We invite you to join our team for this phenomenal opportunity to design the future ground leg of the U.S.s nuclear deterrent!

This is an on-site position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e. every other Friday off) paid overtime and a great work/life balance. For candidates not local to the Ogden area a relocation allowance can be provided.

Cimarron is offering a $5000 referral bonus for all full-time hires for this opportunity!

Key Duties:

  • Design structures using structural analysis principles including statics dynamics and materials engineering.
  • Develop structural engineering deliverables such as steel and concrete calculations specifications and material requisitions.
  • Prepare specifications procurement documents subcontract requisitions and perform technical bid evaluations with award recommendations.
  • Provide direct support to other engineering disciplines on structural-related matters and review structural drawings and design details.
  • Assist in preparing conceptual studies designs reports proposals and quantity take-offs.
  • Coordinate work and collaborate with other engineering disciplines and participate in constructability reviews.


Requirements

Required Skills Experience and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid unexpired Real ID-compliant drivers license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your drivers license or state ID.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
  • Registered Engineer in Training (E.I.T. or equivalent).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and other common computer applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge and application of the AISC Steel Construction Manual ACI 318 IBC and ASCE 7.
  • Broad understanding of structural engineering design principles.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6or more years of related experience or Bachelors degree in Structural/Civil Engineeringand 2 or more years of related experience.

Desired Skills Experience and Education:

  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience executing engineering and design work with Tekla software.
  • Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and the Whole Building Design Guide.
  • Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI MasterFormat specifications or using SpecsIntact.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (Civil or Structural) in the United States.
  • Masters degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited course of study.
