Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Anticipated 6th-8th Grade Health Education TeacherGENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Health Education Teacher is directly responsible to the principal of the school to which she/he is assigned and is accountable for the performance responsibilities listed OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year are in accordance with the current Master Contract and salary schedule based on education and experience. CLASSIFICATION: Fair Labor Standards Act ExemptREPORTS TO: Building PrincipalEVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions in the current Master Agreement between the Colchester Education Association and the School Board. Evaluation will be completed according to the guidelines defined in the districts Differentiated Evaluation : VT State education license with endorsement in health with preference for dual licensure in health & physical ability and/or successful prior teaching of content and current best practices in teaching comprehensive health in collaborative problem solving critical thinking and to the school districts mission and Strategic RESPONSIBILITIES: and guide students according to their developmental needs and in accordance with the districts health education curriculum. a classroom environment and climate which is open flexible and conducive to learning. district policies and follow school practices and procedures. appropriate student records and health education program documentation. effective health education practices and wellness strategies for staff students and community members. interdisciplinary units and initiate opportunities for integrating health education in other areas of the curriculum. effectively with parents students peers and human resource agencies. supervisory responsibilities as assigned. with other school and district staff members to ensure student achievement of defined learner other responsibilities as assigned by the building or district administrators.
